Whispering Silences

About

Hi there! I’m glad you’re here! My name is Maria-Christina Doulami (and yes, I do use both names, and yes, people do call me with both) 🙂 . I have studied European Studies and Modern Languages, as well as Journalism and I am working in the communications/public relations/EU Affairs industry, while also freelancing as a journalist and translator. I have completed a stage at the European Commission, something which I value greatly as an experience, and I am constantly involved in monitoring current and international affairs. I actually like what I do. I would however appreciate the chance of engaging more into journalism. The way it is supposed to be though. Not copying badly written press releases, but actually doing the research and expressing an objective but thoughtful insight to the story. I also love learning languages. I speak five, no wait, six and would love to learn more! Languages are the passport to the world. And a constructive and fun pastime – if you have the time to spare that is! Travelling is also in my list of favourites, but the shortage of funds to do that is (at least for the moment) hindering my desire to flee. As you probably realized, I love writing. For me, this is the best and easiest way to express myself and it is through here that I can actually say/type/write exactly what is on my mind. If we are to be criticized either way, better have it done with no regrets!

Update: In 2015, I published my first book, a collection of ten short stories in Greek.
