More and more I find monsters wherever I go”.

There was a bitterness in her voice. You could sense she had been deeply hurt. So much that she had lost confidence in what was real.

He took her hand as they walked across the lantern-lit bridge above the lake.

We’re not all the same, you know. Some of us are real. And we mean what we say. Our actions prove it too.

Isidora feigned a smile.

She wanted to believe him. She needed to.

But her heart was too weak to dominate her brain this time.

He would, however, insist.
